Waveplates are also referred to as Retardation plates or Retarders.

Tower Optical Waveplates are made of high quality Crystalline Quartz and are available from stock in a large assortment of different wavelengths as well as dual wavelengths.

Tower Optical has thousands in stock for immediate delivery. We can custom design Waveplates to suit your specific needs. They are available in different sizes, shapes wavelengths and Coatings to suit any application.

Multiple Order Waveplates consist of a single Quartz plate, while Zero Order Waveplates are constructed of two Quartz plates that are oriented so that the optical axes are orthogonal. Standard Waveplates are air spaced; cemented and contacted Waveplates are also available. Zero order Waveplates are far less sensitive to temperature changes.

True Zero Order Waveplates <100 microns are available in sizes as small as 1mm and thickness of approximately 90 microns.  See WDM Optics for additional details.

Stock Waveplates are AR coated and several wavelengths are available with Broad Band Coatings.

UV and IR Waveplates are available on special order basis.

Waveplates are available mounted in ½" (8mm clear aperture) or 1" (15mm clear aperture) anodized Aluminum housings.

Special order Waveplates are available from 1mm to 50mm in size with coatings and housings to suit your requirements.
